Places to eat near the Z-Plex in Melissa
August 12, 2026
If you're playing in a baseball tournament at the Z-Plex and find yourself looking for food in the area, we've gathered a bunch of options, including fast food and sit-down, all within about a ten minute drive of the fields.
Quick, between games
- Braum's, burgers and ice cream. Under 5 minutes, 2681 Sam Rayburn Hwy. Closest thing to the park, and about as kid-friendly as this gets.
- Golden Chick, fried chicken. About 7 to 9 minutes, 2631 Sam Rayburn Hwy. 4.6 stars from 934 reviews, the best-rated fast option here. Family boxes work well for a roster.
- Chick-fil-A, chicken. About 7 to 9 minutes, 1300 Melissa Crossing Ct. Opened in June 2026, so there aren't enough reviews yet to say anything useful about it.
- Chipotle, build-your-own Mexican. About 7 to 9 minutes, 1220 Melissa Crossing Ct. Also new. Good for a roster with allergies or picky eaters.
- McDonald's, burgers and breakfast. About 7 to 9 minutes, 2810 Washington Dr. 3.0 stars from 606 reviews, which is the weakest rating on any of these lists, but it's the only breakfast drive-thru for an early first pitch.
Sit-down, after the last game
- Sunview Cafe, breakfast and American. About 7 to 9 minutes, 2615 Sentinel Way #400. 4.5 stars from 182 ratings. The one for a morning start.
- Maria's Mexican Restaurant, Tex-Mex. About 7 to 9 minutes, 2321 Sam Rayburn Hwy. 4.4 stars from 283 ratings. Combo plates and big portions.
- Mountain Mike's Pizza, pizza. About 7 to 9 minutes, 3031 Washington Dr. 4.1 stars from 90 ratings. Order ahead and it's the easiest team meal on this list.
- True Texas BBQ, barbecue. About 7 to 9 minutes, 1230 Central Expy, inside the Melissa H-E-B. 4.0 stars from 76 ratings. There's a drive-thru, which is unusual for barbecue and useful when you're short on time.
A note on the ratings
Three entries here carry no rating. The Chick-fil-A and Chipotle opened in June 2026 and haven't accumulated enough reviews to be worth quoting, and Braum's couldn't be confirmed from a source with a real sample. The sit-down ratings come from an aggregator rather than Google, so treat them as directional.
Drive times are estimates from the park.
